Truth

You remember in Scarface when Tony was at that expensive restaurant all drunk sayin "I always tell the truth, even when I lie." This is my take on what he meant by that.
He meant that it was the truth as far as he knew it. Meanin if someone is convinced of a particular thing, It doesn't mean that it's necessarily the blatant undeniable truth, but it's their truth. Tony was just being true to HIMSELF. That's why even though he was the BAD MAN, everyone can find a quality within his character that is admirable. It also is a warning of caution. To those that live life in a whirlwind of deceit. First and foremost the deceived must be yourself , because in order to be convincing enough to convince someone else, you must first convince yourself. As Somerset Maugham said "It's a funny thing about life: if you refuse to accept anything but the best you very often get it."
  • "The same goes for truth", I said.

Of course though, we live in a society that encourages falsehood left and right, up and down. Our own officials lie to the people on a constant basis. We're so caught up in appearance that the suit and tie pulpit trick has kept Bush up in office for eight years. (I don't know about you but as soon as I see that someone is trying to give me wooden nickels, I know I can't trust that guy). Maybeline tells our girls you got to wear this, color that, cover there. Why?, to hide your true self. We let them convince us that we're not good enough coming correct, as we are. That we somehow don't measure up if we don't own this or drive that, Shop here or there, are seen here doing who knows what with who cares people! Do what is meaningful to u. Muster, muster, muster that courage to be you. Most of all ACCEPT WHO YOU ARE. But remember it's all relative. You can only accept yourself to the degree that you are willing to accept others. I AM,  -THE WICKSTA

A poem by Lao Tzu:
Those who know others are intelligent
Those who know themselves have insight.
Those who master others have force
Those who master themselves have strength.

Those who know what is enough are wealthy.
Those who persevere have direction.
Those who maintain their position endure.
And those who die and yet do not perish, live on.
